![]() I have basic knowledge of networking but this is over my head.Motorola MoCA Adapter Bonded 2.0 MoCA for Ethernet over Coax 2-pack The green lights on the MoCA and LAN are both blinking on the adapter in my basement. I have the Ethernet out running to my laptop for testing purposes and I am unable to get internet access. On the second adapter in my basement I have coax from wall into the MoCA and tv to my Fios set top box. However, I have the goCoax hooked up in line to the Verizon router (coax from wall to adapter, then adapter to Fios router) then the Ethernet put running to the LAN on the Linksys router. I don’t think this is the correct setup but this is how it’s always been and it’s worked pretty well. I also have a secondary Linksys router running from a LAN port from the Fios router to the “internet” port of the Linksys which gives my home two separate WiFi signals (the Verizon and Linksys). I am trying to set up my goCoax MoCA 2.5 with Verizon Fios MI424WR router. Devices connected via ethernet are connecting at 1gb internally and Internet speedtests are 950-980mbps. speeds are measured doing file transfers between devices over the moca adapters speedtests out to the Internet ( and ). I believe the "Network Coordinator" is doing something to affect network throughput because the speeds increase when they are taken off the net. As soon as I disconnected the either those from the coax, i would get about 675mbps between bonded 2.0 devices and the 2.5 adapters I am averaging 920mbps between the 2.5 adapters. I would get at most 480mbps with the G1100 and just over 125mbps with the MI424WR on the coax. The problem is that the G1100 and MI424WR would set themselves up as a "Network Coordinator" and performance dropped. All services like DNS, Firewall, Wifi and DHCP have been turned off/disabled. The issue I had was when using it with my repurposed Verizon FiOS Quantum Gateway G1100 or Actiontec MI424WR router used only as a moca bridge/adapter. Performance drops with 1.1 and 2.0 (nonbonded) adapters/moca bridges in the topology. These gocoax adapters work great with only moca 2.5 or bonded 2.0 adapters on the coax. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network ![]() There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
